Discover children’s massage in Sydney with gentle paediatric tuina therapy. Safe, natural treatments designed to support kids’ sleep, digestion, and wellbeing.
Children’s Massage
Gentle, natural massage therapy designed to support children’s digestion, sleep, immunity, and overall wellbeing through safe Traditional Chinese Medicine techniques.
-
Tuina is a time-honoured branch of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) that has been practised for thousands of years. Unlike ordinary relaxation massage, Tuina involves a variety of specialised hand techniques, such as pressing, kneading, rolling, grasping, and pushing, applied to the body’s meridians and acupoints.
These methods are designed to unblock the meridians, regulate the flow of Qi and blood, expel internal imbalances, and restore harmony to the body’s organ functions. As a holistic approach, Tuina not only addresses physical tension but also helps to balance the body’s overall energy system.
-
At Restore Wellness, we also provide pediatric Tuina, a gentle and non-invasive therapy tailored specifically for children. With roots in the classical principles of TCM, pediatric Tuina has been used for centuries to support children’s growth and development. Through careful observation and subtle diagnostic methods, it can help detect and correct early signs of imbalance that may not be obvious but could affect long-term health.
The techniques used in pediatric Tuina differ from those applied to adults. Movements are lighter, more rhythmic, and adapted to a child’s sensitivity, making the experience both comfortable and nurturing. This therapy involves no acupuncture, needles, or medication, only safe, professional hands-on care designed to encourage natural energy flow, strengthen internal functions, and enhance resilience.
Widely practised in China as a trusted form of pediatric health care, this therapy continues to offer children relief, relaxation, and holistic support in their vital early years of development.
-
Parents choose tuina massage therapy for kids as a natural way to support their child’s development and wellbeing. Some of the recognised benefits of tuina massage include:
- Supporting healthy digestion and easing issues like colic, bloating, or constipation
- Promoting better sleep routines
- Easing mild coughs, colds, or restlessness
- Strengthening natural immunity
- Encouraging relaxation and emotional balance
Every session is personalised, focusing on your child’s comfort and overall wellness.
-
Tuina massage is suitable for children from infancy through the teenage years.
- Babies: Very short sessions with gentle techniques to calm digestion and improve sleep
- Toddlers and young children: Slightly longer treatments that help ease common discomforts and support healthy growth
- Older children and teenagers: Tailored care to reduce stress, improve energy, and maintain balance during busy stages of life
Each treatment is always adjusted to your child’s age and development.
-
At Restore Wellness, every children’s massage therapist is trained to provide safe, age-appropriate care. Sessions are calm, supportive, and guided at the child’s pace. Parents or guardians are welcome to be present, helping kids feel secure and comfortable throughout the treatment.
Your child’s wellbeing is our top priority. We:
- Require parental consent for all appointments with children under 16
- Offer the option for parents or guardians to remain in the room during treatment
- Ensure all therapists are qualified, experienced, and sensitive to children’s needs
- Provide a welcoming, inclusive environment for every family
